How to get to Ecuador:
From New York:
- The best way to go is to fly from John F. Kennedy Airpot on Lan Ecuador. The flight takes 6.50 hours to get to Guayaquil, and 7 hours if you would like to arrive at Quito.
- Delta flies from New York, stops in Atlanta for several hours and then continues to Quito. Total travel time: 12 hours +
- American Airlines deprts from New York and stops in Miami or Houston and then continues to Quito and Guayaquil. Total travel time: 10 hours.

Where are the Galápagos Islands?

The Galápagos Islands are located west of mainland Ecuador, 600 miles off the coast.  
How Do I get to the Galápagos Islands?
First you arrive at one of the 2 major cities in Ecuador Quito or Guayaquil. Most people arrive at Quito first and tour Ecuador mailnland first before visiting the Galápagos Islands. You can Galápagos first and then visit the other important places in Ecuador.
- From Quito: there are daily flights. The carriers are Lan, Tame and Aerogal. They arrive at Baltra or San Cristobal. The flight takes 3.50 hours and makes one stop in Guayaquil to pick up more passengers.
- From Guayaquil: There are daily flights in the same carriers listed above and the flight takes 2.50 hours.
- From Cuenca: There are daily flights departing almost daily.
Return: you can return from Baltra Airport or San Cristobal.
